hiking gear for beginners

At Hike Authority, we do our best to make sure readers are getting the best possible information. A lot of research and personal experience goes into creating the content here. Occasionally, we will make recommendations for products, such as hiking gear. The products listed may contain affiliate links to Amazon or other retailers, which provide the site with a commission from every purchase.

“So,” you say. “Who cares?” Simply put, we need to disclose such information to the readers here for legal reasons. However, keep in mind that putting our reputation on the line is worth more than a couple of bucks.

Having said that, you can rest assured that the products recommended on this site are those which have been personally used or have an overwhelming amount of positive user feedback, which has been determined through hours-upon-hours of research. The entire goal is to help you find what you need without needing to spend hours doing the research.

Who Runs
Hike Authority?

Howdy. I’m Mike, the guy behind Hike Authority.

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I have a secret super-power of boring people to death with details of my personal life, but I’ve sworn to only use it at social gatherings.

When I was young, I would occasionally go on hikes with my father, who is a true outdoors-man. However, it wasn’t until later in life that I discovered the life-changing benefits of hiking, which fueled my love for the outdoors.

Hike Authority was created to share experiences and tips with new-to-seasoned hikers, as well as introduce would-be trekkers to the wonderful activity.

It’s my goal to provide the most in-depth information possible to help fellow hikers.

How You Should
Use This Site

Hike Authority
As mentioned, the content on this site is heavily researched before it’s even typed onto the screen.

Still, it’s up to the reader to do due-diligence before making decisions, especially if it comes to physical conditions and health.

Any article that references health should not be taken as medical advice, simply pointers of what could be.

Keep in mind, any article that references health or physical conditions is backed up by legit sources (I’m a hypochondriac and would never want someone filling my head with false fears or hopes).

Knowing this, it’s my goal to have users consume the content on this site as a way of expanding their knowledge and helping guide them on the right path.

So sit back, enjoy, and learn a thing or two!
